Crystal Balls and the Art of Crystal Ball Gazing Crystal gazing has been used for divination by many different cultures over thousands of years. The earliest known people to use crystal balls were the Druids. Their crystal balls were made from a stone called Beryl. Later crystal balls were made from quartz crystal due to the clairvoyant properties of this stone. During the Medieval period, crystal ball gazing became popular for wizards, fortune tellers and gypsies who used crystal ball gazing for gaining information about the past, present and future of their clients. The crystal ball itself is a perfect sphere. The ball can be mounted on a stand when in use, placed on a pillow or special material or held in the hand. The size of the crystal ball is not considered to be important though large crystal balls are certainly magnificent and a beautiful feature. Your crystal ball should be kept in a dark place and not exposed to sunlight. It should be wrapped in a dark cloth for protection from light and marking and should only be brought out at night. Crystal ball gazing is best undertaken either outside under the light of the moon or inside by candlelight. Prior to gazing, think about the question that you want an answer for or, alternatively, write the question on a piece of paper. Gaze into the ball in a relaxed manner, thinking about the question that you want answered. Any ideas or notions that come to mind during your gazing should be noted along with any images that appear in your crystal ball. These may not seem significant at first but inspirations should be acted upon whether they make immediate sense to you or not as they will either be an indirect answer to your problem or lead you to the answer you are looking for.
